Essential Japan
Eight days through Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka, with guided tours and high-speed trains. Departures almost every week from April 2027 to March 2028.
About this journey
A well-planned first visit to Japan: three nights in Tokyo, three in Kyoto and one in Osaka. Meiji, Asakusa and Shibuya on the first guided day; Hakone with Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji on the horizon; Nara and its deer; Fushimi Inari, the Golden Pavilion and Arashiyama's bamboo grove in Kyoto. Finish in Osaka with Dotonbori.
Tours are shared, with a Spanish-speaking guide, and the Nozomi high-speed train takes you from Tokyo to Kyoto while your suitcase travels by road. You can add a tea ceremony, a day in Hiroshima and Miyajima, or extra nights at either end.
Departures run almost every week of the year. Prices vary by season, with the lowest in June and late November. Quoted in US dollars, per person sharing a double room, excluding international flights. We'll choose the date with you and arrange the flights.
