Sixteen days from Beijing to Shanghai, travelling between cities by high-speed train: the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, Chengdu pandas and the Avatar mountains in Zhangjiajie. A group of no more than 16 people.

About this journey

Sixteen days across China, from Beijing to Shanghai, travelling between cities by high-speed train. The Forbidden City and the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, the panda base in Chengdu, the Leshan Giant Buddha, the Longsheng rice terraces, a cruise on the Li River and the sandstone peaks of Zhangjiajie that inspired Avatar's floating mountains.

A private group of up to 16 passengers, with one departure from 2 to 17 November 2026, during China's autumn. An accompanying group escort is provided with a minimum of 10 participants.

Price in US dollars, per person sharing a double room, for the land arrangements. International flights are not included: the group flies with Emirates via Dubai, and we can quote the flights alongside the trip. The local guide speaks Spanish at the times specified in the itinerary.

There is also an optional two-night extension in Hong Kong and a full-day excursion to Macau, both quoted separately.

The itinerary

Day 1: Beijing
Arrival at Beijing International Airport.
Private transfer to the hotel.
Check-in: room available from 3 p.m.
Overnight at the hotel.
2nd day: Beijing
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Tian An Men Square, the most important in China. Museum of the Imperial Palace (Forbidden City), which details the history of each dynasty. Temple of Heaven, symbol of the relationship between heaven and earth. Tea tasting in a traditional tea house.
Lunch at the local restaurant.
Welcome dinner with the traditional Beijing Lacquered Duck in local restaurant.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Beijing
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Great Wall in the Juyongguan section, built as defense by soldiers and peasants. Summer Palace, with gardens, catwalks, lakes and palaces for stroll (no cruise). Pearl Factory.
Lunch at the local restaurant.
Overnight at the hotel.

4th day: Beijing / Xi’an
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the train station.
Peking Ball Train for Xi’an (2nd class).
Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel.

Day 5: Xi’an
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Museum of Terracotta Warriors, with more than 8,000 figures built under the Emperor's command. Terracotta factory, to observe the craftsmen's work. Pagoda of the Little Wild Goose, who keeps sutras and statues brought from India. Muslim neighborhood, busy and full of energy. Brief stop at the Old Xi’an Wall (no ascent).

Day 6: Xi’an / Chengdu
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the train station.
Train-ball from Xi’an to Chengdu (2nd class).

Day 7: Chengdu / Leshan
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Great Buddha of Leshan, the greatest statue of Buddha in stone in the world. Lingyun Temple, next to the Buddha, with access to the staircases. Boat trip along the Min River, which provides a panoramic view of the Great Buddha.

Day 8: Chengdu / Guilin
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Panda Bear Study Base, important conservation and research center. Cave of the Junco Flute, known for displaying a variety of rock formations.
Transfer to the train station.
Chengdu Ball Train for Guilin (about 5 hours – economic class).
Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel.
Overnight at the hotel.

9th day: Guilin / Longsheng
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Departure from Guilin Centre, to visit the ethnic villages of private transport (about 2 1/2 hours). Terraces of Longsheng Rice (Ping'an), famous rice fields that descend in cascade along the slopes of the mountains like the scales of a dragon. Ping'an Terrace Scenic Area, which houses the viewpoints "Seven Stars and Moon" and "Nine Dragons and Five Tigers" to admire the staggered terraces and ancient villages.

10th day: Guilin / Yangshuo
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Cruise by the Lijiang River, famous for its spectacular limestone peaks.
Lunch-style lunch box on board.

Day 11: Guilin / Fenghuang
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the train station.
Guilin Ball Train to Fenghuang (2nd class).
Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel.

12th day: Fenghuang / Zhangjiajie
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Ancient City of Fenghuang, characterized by its cobblestone alleys, bridges and wooden houses along the Tuo River. Furong (Vila dos Hibiscos), famous for its waterfall that crosses the historic center. Zhangjiajie, famous as the Avatar Park, is one of China's most impressive natural areas, with unique rock formations, forests, valleys and karstic caves.
Transfer from Fenghuang to Zhangjiajie.

Day 13: Zhangjiajie
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Yuanjiajie National Park, with a lift up to admire the largest natural bridge in the world and the sandstone peaks that inspired the “Alleluia Mountains” of the movie Avatar. Down by the panoramic elevator. Walk on the world's longest transparent glass bridge.
Lunch at the local restaurant.

14th day: Zhangjiajie / Shanghai
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Tianmen Mountains, known for the “Paradise Gate”, a natural arch cave with stunning views.
Lunch at the local restaurant.
Transfer to the airport.
Zhangjiajie flight to Shanghai.
Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight at the hotel.

15th day: Shanghai
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits:
Yuyuan Garden, one of the most beautiful in China, with traditional pavilions, lakes and gardens. Temple of Jade Buddha, the most famous in the city. Walk the Bund, a promenade by the river. Silk factory.
Lunch at the local restaurant.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 16: Shanghai
Breakfast at the hotel.
Check-out: Room can be occupied until 11 a.m.
Private transfer to Shanghai International Airport.
