AlUla: Hegra and days in the desert
Four nights among the Nabataean tombs of Hegra, the mud-brick old town and Elephant Rock. The Saudi desert with a design hotel. Itinerary approved by Fernanda Domecg.
About this journey
Hegra was built by the same people as Petra and remained closed to the world for decades. Today it is Saudi Arabia's first World Heritage Site and receives a fraction of the visitors who go to its Jordanian neighbour. Spend half a day there with a site guide, followed by a private tour through the alleyways and thousand-year-old mud-brick houses of AlUla Old Town.
There's a free day for Elephant Rock at sunset, Maraya's mirrored building in the desert, or simply relaxing at a hotel such as Banyan Tree or Habitas, which we'll choose with you.
Price in US dollars, per person sharing a double room. International and domestic flights are not included; we can quote them alongside the trip. Combine it with Jeddah and the Red Sea for a ten-day journey.
